Hint:-The process of spermatogenesis occurs in the male gametes or testes. It consists of two stages- spermatidogenesis i.e. the formation of spermatic germinal epithelium and spermiogenesis i.e. the formation of sperms from spermatids.

Complete Answer:- The spermatozoon or male gamete consists of the following four parts: head, neck, middle piece and tail.
- Head- it is flat and oval in human spermatozoon consisting of a small anterior acrosome and a large posterior nucleus. The acrosome is formed of Golgi apparatus. At the time of acrosome formation, the Golgi apparatus is concentrated near the anterior end of the developing sperm nucleus and then it forms a dense pro acrosomal granule which gets attached to the anterior end of the nucleus and gradually enlarges to form an acrosome. The hydrolytic enzymes present in it are used to penetrate the egg during fertilization.
- Neck- The neck is very short and is present between the head and the middle piece. It contains two centrioles that lie one behind and at right angles to the other. The proximal centriole is present towards the nucleus and it helps in the first cleavage of the zygote. The distal centriole helps in giving rise to the axial filament of the sperm.
- Middle piece- It is cylindrical in human sperm and contains many mitochondria coiled around the axial filament called mitochondrial spiral. The mitochondria provide energy for the movement of sperm in the female genital tract.
- Tail- It is very long, slender and tapering and is formed of cytoplasm.

So the correct answer is C. Golgi bodies.

Note:- The spermatozoon or male gamete is a highly specialized cell. The entire spermatozoon or the sperm in humans is covered by a plasma membrane. The spermatozoa vibrate their tail in a fluid medium for swimming.
