The youth and the students of our generation are the only ones who can fulfill the aspirations and the ambitions of our country. Our generation will only be successful and victorious if we all stand together to achieve these goals. In India, the literacy rate of a hundred percent or around has been attained by only a few states. It is common for illiteracy to prevail among the old and the deprived sections of the society. The Indian government had initiated the ‘each one teaches one’ campaign in India with the aim of spreading literacy and awareness about the benefits of education.
Almost 60% of the Indian population resides in villages and underdeveloped areas. We, as citizens of India, cannot achieve the goal of eradicating illiteracy, unless and until the villagers and the deprived sections of the society receive an education. The youth and the students can participate in education campaigns or they can visit the deprived areas to teach the unfortunate. Many NGOs and schools organize literacy programs for the poor and the underprivileged of our society. As a student, it is our rightful duty to spread knowledge among others.
Our government has taken many initiatives to develop literacy, from fully developed schools to free education for the girl children. Now, it is our turn to contribute for the betterment of our country. India is a fast-developing country and the only thing preventing it from achieving full development is Illiteracy. So, let’s encourage the students and the youth to help eradicate illiteracy and make India a fully developed country.
