A single cell is often a complete organism. Broadly there are 2 types of cells - Prokaryotic cell and Eukaryotic cell. Prokaryotic cells are found as unicellular organisms, they do not work in groups. On the other hand, Eukaryotic cells occur unicellular or may form groups to work together in complex multicellular organisms.

When cells come together to perform a particular function, they form a "Tissue". Thus, tissue is defined as a group of structurally and functionally similar cells working together to perform a function as a whole. For example- Muscle Tissue.

Further, different tissues come together to form an organ. For example, the heart contains muscle tissue that contracts to pump blood, fibrous tissue that makes up the heart valves, and some special cells for impulse conduction.
