Hint:- Arthropoda is the largest phylum and includes about 80% of total animals. It includes 1,134,000 species. It includes crabs, prawns, insects, spiders, prawns, scorpions, ticks and mites.

Complete Answer:-
The body of the animals of the phylum Arthropoda is variously shaped and is segmented externally to varying degrees. The body symmetry is bilateral in arthropods.
They are triploblastic animals i.e. they develop from three germ layers. They have organ-system level of organization. The anterior part of the body forms a distinct head and consists of many fused segments. It bears well developed sense organs like eyes, compound eyes, antenna, etc.
Some or all the segments of the body bear appendages that are joined. This character gives the phylum its name. The appendages are modified and used for various purposes like feeding, walking, sensory reception, jumping, swimming, clinging, copulation and defense.
This phylum is divided into six main classes- Crustacea, Chilopoda, Diplopoda, Insecta, Arachnid and Merostomata. The class Insecta is characterized by organisms with three pairs of jointed legs and two pairs of wings. Their body is divided into three regions- head, thorax and abdomen.
Thorax bears three pairs of legs and usually one or two pairs of wings. The abdomen lacks appendages. For example, cockroaches belong to the class Insecta. It bears two pairs of wings on its thorax that dorsally cover the entire abdomen. The wings of the first and second pairs are respectively articulated to the tergites of mesothorax and metathorax. Also each of the three thoracic segments laterally bears a pair of long legs articulated to its pleuritis.
So the correct answer is class Insecta.

Note:- The Insecta is the largest class of animals and it has over 7,00,000 species. They are the most successful land vertebrates. Because of three pairs of legs, the class Insecta is also called Hexapoda.
