Hint:-Inheritance is the process in which a child receives genetic information from the parent. The process of hereditary is dependent upon inheritance and it is the reason that the offspring are similar to the parents.

Complete step-by-step solution:-If the cross is carried out between the two different phenotypes the generation will show half of the both characters. The cross is carried out between the heterozygous phenotype of dominant trait and the homozygous phenotype of recessive trait then the resulting generation will show half of the dominant phenotype and the other half of the recessive phenotype. So both the parental characters will be seen in the offspring
With the help of Punnett square
Heterozygous dominant is Tt
Homozygous dominant is tt
     Tt * tt

T. Tt Tt
t tt. tt
So from the above cross the resulting generation will show the half of the organism of will have heterozygous dominant tall genotype (Tt) and the other half will have homozygous recessive short genotype (tt)

II) The type of cross carried out here is a test cross.

Note:- In this type of cross the individual with unknown dominant phenotype is crossed with an individual parent that is homozygous recessive for that trait. So the resulting F1 generation will show the half of the dominant phenotype.
