Hint:Before we start the solution, we must know what inverse and direct relations are. When one quantity increases and the other decreases, such a relation is known as ‘inverse relation’.
When one quantity increases and the other also increases, such a relation is known as ‘direct relation’.

Complete step by step answer:
Total number of people in the camp = 500

Number of days the food stock will last for 500 people = 70

Number of days the food stock will last for 1 person = 70 x 500 = 35000 days

Number of more people who joined the camp = 200

Total number of people in the camp now = 500 +200 = 700

Number of days the food stock will last for 700 people = \[\dfrac{35000}{700}\] = 50 days

So, the food stock will last for 50 days for 700 people.

Note:The 2 quantities – ‘Number of people’ and ‘Number of days’ are inversely proportional to each other. So, if they are by mistake taken as something that is directly proportional to each other, then the answer will come out to be wrong one.
