Detailed Class 2 NCO Syllabus

Section 1

Patterns

Patterns are all about finding types like repeating, growing, or shrinking in a given image. The students have to find the right elements that repeating pattern has. Similarly, they will have to find the correct numbers in the growing or shrinking patterns to get the final result. Once the students have found the right pattern, they will have to label it accordingly. The students must understand the pattern in the right way and search the correct elements to get the final result.

 
Measuring Units

Measuring Units is an important section that has to be carefully read and understood by the children. The chapter focuses on measuring the length, breadth, and height of an object that is given in the question. The object can be in the form of a pencil, notebook, clip, etc. for which you will have to measure and find out the right answer for the given question. To find the correct answer, you will have to measure how long the object is and how wide is object correctly.

 
Odd One Out

Odd One Out is another exciting chapter for all the students. For all the students, it helps in measuring their memory power and understanding of the subjects that they are reading. The students will be given shapes, numbers, patterns, etc. and they will have to find the odd one out of them. The students have to see the things or numbers carefully to find the one that is not matching the rest. Once the students have found the odd ones, they will have to select that one to get the right answer.

 
Series Completion

After completing the odd one out of the question, the students will be given another question that is related to series completion. Series completion means that the student will have to find the right pattern in a given series that doesn’t match with the rest. This means that they will have to find the wrongs one out of the series to get the right answer. You can practice by writing a series of numbers and adding alphabets in between, and asking your child to find out the wrong ones.

 
Geometrical Shapes

Students will be given different geometrical shapes such as square, rectangle, sphere, triangle, etc. and will be asked to find the corners, edges, and faces of the shapes. The students will have to count and find out the number of corners each shape has and write it down accordingly. Similarly, they will also have to find the edges and faces of the shapes. You can practice it by drawing the shape of a rectangle and understanding how these faces, edges, and corners are calculated.

 
Analogy 

The Analogy is a section in the updated NCO syllabus for Class 2 that helps you to learn different things when they are studying the subjects of Analogy. Analogy means that the children have to compare a given object or thing with another object or thing that is very much different from each other. It helps the kids to increase their mathematical sense by comparing the objects and understanding the link between them same.

 
Ranking Test

Once the children have learned about Analogy, they will have to answer questions of the ranking test. In the ranking test, the children have to answer the questions by ranking the things or objects in the correct order. For example, if they are given a list of students A, B, C, and D who have scored 98, 82, 19, and 78 out of 100 in maths respectively, and they have to find out who has scored the highest. The answer is A. If your child has found the right answer, then he or she can quickly answer the ranking test questions.

 
Grouping of Figures

Grouping of figures is an exciting subject that helps your child in learning the things that can be put together in the same group. This means that they will have to find the right order of the figures that can be easily arranged in a group. The students will be given different shapes that are different from each other but has some sides in common. The students will have to find out the shapes that can be put together in the same order as they all look the same.

 
Coding-Decoding

Coding and decoding are vital sections for children that helps them in improving their reasoning skills. Students will be given a series of numbers and words that are linked with coding values. The students will have to understand the codes, as mentioned in the question. 

 
Embedded Figures

Embedded figures mean that there will be a figure that will be hidden in another figure. The students will have to understand the figure and find the other figure that is hidden inside it. For example, if a rectangle is hidden inside a square, the student will have to understand the figure and find out the rectangle to answer the question correctly.

 
Section - 2

Computer-a Smart Machine

Computer-a Smart machine is a section that the students have to read carefully and understand. In this section, students will learn how computers can make our work easier and simpler. They will also learn how a computer works, how many types of machines are there, how to start and shut down a computer, and many more. There will be questions asked in the exam on computers that students have to answer as per their understanding.

 
General Information about Computers

In general information about computers, the students will learn about computers were built. They will learn about the history of computers and why you need a computer to do your jobs. In the exam, the students will have to answer the basic questions that are asked about computers.

  Parts of Computers

In this section, the students will be learning about the parts that are used in computers. They will learn about the monitor, keyboard, etc. and understand how it works in a particular way. Students will have to find the parts of the computers in the exam and identify each of them.

 
Use of Computer

In the National Cyber Olympiad syllabus Class 2, the students will be learning more about the uses of computers. They will learn about the places where they can use computers to do their work. In this exam, there will be questions asked on the uses of computers and students have to write the places where machines are used.

 
Learning to use Keyboard and Mouse

Once the students have learned about computers and their use, they will be learning about keyboards and mice. The students will have to read through this section carefully to understand what is a keyboard and a mouse, and how it is used in computers. After they have learned about the keyboard and mouse, they will be asked to find out which one is the keyboard and mouse on the computer. They will also have to read the use of the keyboard and mouse in the computers.

 
MS-Paint

Once students have downloaded the updated NCO Syllabus Class 2, the students will find MS-Paint to be a part of the syllabus. Students have to understand how to draw and use the MS-Paint as they can be asked to draw a shape or figure in the examination using MS-Paint.
