CBSE Class 4 Hindi Worksheets for Chapter 8 Kaun

CBSE Class 4 Hindi Chapter 8 consists of a poem called ‘Kaun’. It is a poem where the narrator tries to find out the naughty one, who is responsible for creating a mess in the room. The author of this poem is Sohan Lal Dwivedi.

In this poem, the author is talking about a rat or a mouse. While explaining the characteristics of the mouse, he asks the children if they know the name of the person or the animal. According to the poem, at first, he asks, who has torn all the buttons? Who pushed down the ink? Who was the one who ate all the vegetables and made the room a dirty mess? Moreover, he asks, who took away all the sweets from the box? Who broke the picture into two pieces? Who tore apart the rope?

In the next paragraph, the poet asks about the one who destroys his sandals and shoes. Sometimes, the little animal makes holes in his kurta pockets and when he fails to notice, money falls out of his pockets. Sometimes, the rat tears off the cover of the books, because of which, the pages of the book fall off. All the clothes that he washes and puts up to dry are probably taken away by the mouse too. 

In the last paragraph, the writer mentions that the mouse tears all the papers into pieces. The entire room becomes a mess with those paper pieces. Who is the little ‘kabadiwala’(scrap dealer), who makes a mess in the room with all the junk? Who is that little prankster, who makes such a sound at night that nobody can sleep? Someone who finds something here and there, then again, hides in a corner?
