Summary of the Chapter

The poem “Padhakku Ki Soojh” has been written by Ramdhari Singh Dinkar.  The poem says that there was a person, who was very knowledgeable and aware of the world. Nobody could beat him in logic and debate. He could find logic and knowledge in everything that was around him. One day, he started thinking, how does a plough work without a bull? The owner might have taught it some kind of art that makes it possible to work without a bull as well.

Finally, one day, the knowledgeable person asks the man, whether he has actually taught some kind of art or magic to the plough, that it moves on its own. To which the man asked if he had seen the small bell on the bull’s neck. The master remains patient till the time he hears the bell ringing. But, just when the bell stops ringing, the master pulls the tail of the bull a little.

Hearing this, the knowledgeable person replied that he will remain uneducated forever, and will never understand what he actually tried to say. Some day, it might happen that the bull just stands up and shakes his head, which will make the bell ring. Then, the master will think that the bull was working, but actually, he was not.

To this, the master laughed and told the knowledgeable person to go and spread this information in the place from where he learnt it.
