1. What are coordinate geometry and coordinate plane?

Ordinate: It is the y value in the point (x, y) which is placed at a perpendicular distance from the point on x-axis i.e. it is parallel to the y-axis.
The coordinates of a point are useful to perform numerous operations such as finding distance, equation of a line, midpoint, the slope of a line etc.
3. What is a quadrant?
A quadrant can be defined as the region or part of a Cartesian plane which is obtained when two axes intersect each other and this can be used to find out the position of a given point on the plane. In coordinate geometry, a Cartesian plane has 4 parts separated by a vertical line called y-axis and a horizontal line called x-axis. It should be noted that the quadrants are always numbered in an anti-clockwise direction.
