Hint: Testis is the reproductive gland of males in all animals and it includes humans also. This produces sperms and androgens, primarily testosterone. Ovary is an organ that produces ovum and it is found in the female reproductive system.
Complete answer:
Ovary: As we know now that ovum is produced in the ovary that is an organ of the female reproductive system.
a) When ovum is released by ovary it travels to the uterus through the fallopian tube there it may get fertilized by sperm. If the ovum fuses with sperm it forms a zygote that is produced by the epithelial lining of the ovary.
b) The female sex organ ovary also produce progesterone this is a female sex hormone, this is responsible for maintaining endometrium lining. When the ovum develops it starts releasing estrogen hormone that is important for sexual and reproductive development in females.
Testis: The testis are two oval shaped organs in the male reproductive system. This organ produces sperm and produces androgens.
a) Testes is the site for the process of spermatogenesis, process of formation of sperms in the males. Sperms reach the female ovaries by intercourse and fuse with the ovary to produce zygote.
b) There are interstitial cells present in the between the spaces of seminiferous tubules present in the testis. These interstitial cells secrete androgen hormone which is responsible for the development of secondary sexual characters in males.
Note: Women are born with all eggs that they are going to release in their life after puberty, women don’t make any new eggs during their lifetime. Approximately two millions eggs is the count that women are born with but out of these almost eleven thousand eggs die every month before puberty in all women.
