Hint: The paths, along which the unit positive charge will move due to electrostatic force in the field are known as electric lines of force.
Complete step-by-step answer:
We know that when a unit charge of a point is placed in the electric field of another charged particle it will experience a force. The direction of this Force can be represented by the imaginary lines. These imaginary lines are called electric lines of Force.
Properties of Electric field force lines:
1. These field lines never intersect each other.
2. These field lines are perpendicular to the surface of the charge.
3. The magnitude of charge and number of field lines both are proportional to each other.
4. The start point of field lines is at the positive charge and end at the negative charge.
5. For the field lines to either start or end at infinity, a single charge must be used.
Note: Electric Field lines are an excellent way of visualizing electric fields. Electric lines of Force can be described as a way or path, it can be straight or curved so that the tangent gives the direction of the intensity of the electric field at that point at any point.
