Gallium arsenide phosphide (GaAsP) is used for making light-emitting diodes. A doped gallium arsenide phosphide is used to male light-emitting diodes that emit red, orange, and yellow light when current flows through it.

Some other doped semiconductors can also be used to make light-emitting diodes namely, gallium arsenide (GaAs), lead sulphide (PbS), Indium phosphide (InP), and gallium phosphide (GaP). A very low amount of heat is dissipated in the emission of light while using light-emitting diodes in comparison to traditional incandescent bulbs.
