Hint: Botany is a field of science that includes study of plant structure, plant classification and plant growth.

Complete Answer:
ICBN stands for International Code of Botanical Nomenclature.
This organisation has the following roles,
- It sets the recommendations and rules for formal botanical names which are given to the plant.
- It ensures that there is a single accepted name given to every plant.

Now, let us know a little bit about binomial nomenclature. The system of binomial nomenclature was introduced by Carl Linnaeus. ICBN follows the rules of binomial nomenclature for naming new plants. The rules are,
- Every name has two parts: the generic name and specific epithet.
- The first letter of genus is always capital and the first letter of species is always small.
- When typed they must be typed in italics.
- If written by hand, they must be written separately and underlined.
- All the names are of latin origin.

One of the advantages of binomial nomenclature is that it ensures that every animal or plant gets a specific name which can be globally identified.

Additional information: Though the binomial nomenclature has helped to give a single name to every plant, there are drawbacks to it,
- If in case two or more names are in use currently, then the correct name will be the one which was used first.
- The names that are used are prior to those included in “Systema Naturae”.

Note: A similar body exists for naming of animals as per the binomial nomenclature, it is known as ICZN (International Code for Zoological Nomenclature).
