Hint: We need to remember that the states of matter are mainly divided into three types and that is, solid, liquid and gas. And each matters have different chemical and physical properties. In solids, all the particles are arranged very closely. Hence, the force of attraction present between the particles is very strong and it cannot be moved and it has a definite shape. And in the case of liquids, the distance between particles is greater than solid and its shape is depends upon the container. The gas does not have any perfect size or shape and the intermolecular attraction is very less.
Complete answer:
We need to know that the properties of gas are entirely different from solids and liquids. Because, it does not have any definite shape and volume. The intermolecular distance between the particles present in the gases is very high. Hence, it does not have any intermolecular attraction between the particles. So, the gases can move very easily. Therefore, the volume of a particle is negligible in the case of gases when it is compared with the intermolecular distance between the particles. Therefore, the gases can be easily compressed. And in the case of ideal gases, the intermolecular forces are equal to zero. So, the gases can easily liquefy by compression method without cooling. And the volume of particles should be negligible.
Note:
As we know that the particles present in the gases are spread more easily than liquids and solids. And it can move very fast and freely. Because, the distance between the particles present in the gases is very high and there is no attraction between the gases. Hence, it does not have a perfect volume and shape. And the gases can be compressed very easily.
