Obesity is a health condition where the body weighs above the healthy weight. It hampers self confidence, physical activity and other dimensions of life of an individual. According to a study, it has recently been observed that it is likely to have more consequential effects on the school children. School years are our foundation years. The hampers caused by obesity as already discussed, is likely to be more damaging to the school children. It is in these foundation years that we develop our social skills. However, obese children often have to face exclusion from the social groups of their age. Thus, affecting their mental health in the long run. It also makes them under confident about themselves. One can argue about the various causes that lead to obesity amongst the school children. However, every individual is different and deserves different kinds of medical attention. Thus, the best way to prevent obesity is not only to implement a healthy lifestyle but also to know your body well. For school children it lies in the hands of the school and the parents to make their children aware and sensitive about the same. It is their responsibility to make them understand the importance of a healthy lifestyle and knowing one’s own body. It is also their responsibility to make them sensitive about obesity so that those having this condition do not face mental stress caused by it.
