The bell rang loudly, breaking his reverie. He hurriedly packed his bags and walked out of his classroom, as children rushed past him in a frenzy to go home.
The bus dropped him at the curb in front of his house. Kevin got off the bus and wished a good day to his neighbor who was busy watering his lawn. “Are you all set then to go to the countryside?” asked Mr. Smith. “Ready as I can ever be!” exclaimed Kevin giddily.
The next day dawned bright and sunny. Kevin helped his parents load their belongings into the car before settling into his usual spot in the back of the car. The scenery along the way was beautiful; filled with rolling hills and meadows. Kevin watched in fascination as cars of different sizes and colours zoomed by. When he reached his destination, he would show Fred the different car models that he had painstakingly collected over the past year.
With these thoughts in mind, Kevin finally fell asleep dreaming of all the adventures he would have before school commenced for the next term.
