I am writing to you, to support your newspaper’s generous campaign to stop the construction of a car park on the open playfield near our school. I read about your campaign in the newspaper and I am really happy to see that we have people around us who care about the local social issues. We feel a playfield is vital for the children in every locality as it not only helps in keeping the children and adults physically active, but also allows the children to play in safe boundaries, away from the busy streets. It’s a vital place for kids to relax and maintain good health. A car park would not only deprive the children of their playing space but also promote noise and other types of pollution in the locality. Such car parks should be made at places where there is unutilised barren land.
