Hint: Here the question is related to the fractions topic, we have to convert the given mixed fraction to the improper fraction. While converting the mixed fraction to the improper fraction we multiply the denominator term by a whole and then we are adding the obtained product to the numerator and the final solution will be written in place of the numerator.
Complete step by step answer:
In Maths, a fraction is used to represent the portion/part of the whole thing. It represents the equal parts of the whole. A fraction has two parts, namely numerator and denominator. The number on the top is called the numerator, and the number on the bottom is called the denominator.
In a fractions we have three kinds namely, proper fraction, improper fraction and mixed fraction. In the proper fraction the numerator value will be less than the denominator. In the improper fraction the numerator will be greater than the value of the denominator. In the mixed fraction, it is a combination of the whole term and the fraction part.
Now consider the given question, \[4\dfrac{3}{4}\], this is in the form of a mixed fraction. To convert it into the improper fraction, multiply the denominator term to the whole part and then that should be added to the numerator value. Firstly we multiply the denominator term by the whole part. So we have \[4 \times 4 = 16\]. On adding 16 to 3 we get \[16 + 3 = 19\]. So the numerator value will be 19 and the denominator value will be the same.So we have \[4\dfrac{3}{4} = \dfrac{{19}}{4}\]
Note: While converting one form of fraction to the another form, we use the simple arithmetic operations like addition, multiplication and division. While multiplying we need the tables of multiplication. Suppose if the number is in the form of a negative number then it is considered as a less one.
