Complete Step by Step answer: Gautama Buddha was born in Lumbini located in Southern Nepal. The UNESCO World Heritage list put the famous gardens of Lumbini in their list. The evidence of his birthplace is found in the inscription on the pillar erected by the Mauryan Emperor Ashoka in 249 BC. He travelled throughout the Ganges plain and his teachings spread throughout south-east Asia.
According to early Buddhist Texts, Yashodhara was his wife and Rahula was his son. After giving birth to the only child, on the 7th night of his birth he left the palace to attain salvation. Yashodhara decided to start living a simple life and later ordained as Bhikkuni with the 500 women following Mahapajapati Gotami that first established the Bhikkhuni order. She died at 78, before 2 years of Budhha’s parinirvana.
Many women attended Buddha's sermon and one of them was Amaparpali who was moved by it and invited him for a meal at her place.
