-The party wins 2% of seats in the Lok Sabha from at least three different states.
-At a general election to Lok Sabha or Legislative Assembly, the party polls 6% of votes in any four or more states and in addition it wins four Lok Sabha seats.
-The party gets recognition as a state party in four states.

The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) is one of the national political parties in India and was created in order to help the Bahujans which represented the majority of people in India who were minorities in the caste system. This group included Scheduled Castes , Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Castes (OBC), along with religious minorities.
Kanshi Ram started the party in  1984  to help the minorities in the country. The Bahujans were almost 85% of the population in India. Due to the caste system, these were divided into  6,000  different castes. He wanted to be the voice of these minorities. The BSP was primarily initiated in the state of Uttar Pradesh. At the time it was the second largest party. In the  2019  Indian general election with  19.3  percent. Its sign of election is an elephant.
