Hint: Tibet is a very crucial region when it comes to the subject of rivers and the places of their origin. It is believed that around 46 percent of the population of the world depend upon the rivers originating in Tibet.

Complete Answer:Among the given options Beas is the river which does not originate from Tibet. Beas is a north Indian river which rises in the Himalayas in the central part of Himachal Pradesh. Among all the rivers of the Indus river system it is the only river which originates in India and also ends in India. It flows for about 470 km and then joins Sutlej in the Indian state of Punjab.

Indus dolphins are found in this river however they are very less in population. If we look at history then we will find that the Beas river marked the easternmost border of Alexander the Great’s conquest which happened in the year 326 BCE.

Option A - Sutlej - The west catchment area of Lake Rakshastal in Tibet is the source of this river.

Option B - Brahmaputra - Kailash ranges of the Himalayas is the origin point of this river and then it flows eastward.

Option D - Indus - In the northern slopes of Mt Kailash there is a glacier called Bokhar Chu. This is the glacier from which Indus originates.

Therefore the correct answer is option C.

Note: The autonomous region of China on the lofty Tibetan Plateau is Tibet and it is nicknamed as the ‘Roof of the World’. It is given this nickname because of the towering peaks present there.
