Gas: Gas is defined as the state of matter which has neither definite shape nor definite volume. Gases generally have low density. Gases possess high compressibility and thermal expansion. Gas molecules are most energetic. Intermolecular forces of attraction are almost negligible.
Hence from above, we got to know that solids, liquid and gases are the states of matter. Only vapour is not considered as the state of the matter.

One of these rates is called plasma state which consists of a mixture of electrons and positively charged ions forming due to superheating of gaseous state.
