Hint: A pace-maker is a device which is battery operated and senses heartbeat and if found irregular then it sends signals to heart for regulating the heartbeat to correct pace. This device is implanted to heart patients and placed under the skin through surgery.

Complete answer:
Many heart patients have problems of irregular heart beat due to which patient may suffer through heart attack or other conditions. To save patients from this situation we place a device called a pace-maker into the patient through surgery under the skin. Whenever it senses any changes or irregular heartbeat it sends a signal to heart for regulating heart beat and sets back to the correct place.
This device is made up of a generator that contains a battery and the information to control the heartbeat. Other materials that pace-maker contain wires that connect the generator and carry the electrical messages to the heart.
This device can be implanted at the left side below the collarbone. Also, it is implanted in the abdomen but implantation in the abdomen is very rare. Nowadays, there are two types of pace-maker that is,
Transcutaneous pacemaker
Transvenous pacemaker
These pacemakers are not permanent pacemakers.
So, if we want to know about its principle let’s check given options.
Option ‘A’: Physiotherapy is a method of treatment in which doctors help their patients by movements and exercises, manual therapy and natural methods.
Option ‘B’: Biomedical engineering is the application of engineering tools, techniques and principles and designs to make medicines, equipment and techniques for healthcare and medicine.
Option ‘C’: Occupational therapy is the method in which persons with physical, sensory or cognitive problems are cured. This method helps patients to regain independence in all areas of their lives and remove all barriers that can affect a person's emotional, social and physical needs.
Option ‘D’: Psychiatry is the field of medicine which focuses on the treatment, diagnosis and prevention of mental, emotional and behavioral disorders.

So, after discussing all the available options we can conclude that pacemaker implantation is the method developed under biomedical engineering.

Note: Biomedical engineering applications involve development of biocompatible prostheses, various diagnostic methods and therapeutic medical devices which include clinical devices to micro-implants, common imaging equipment such as MRI and EKGs.
