Hint:Fertilization is the process where two haploid cells one from male and another from female meet which in turn will make a diploid zygote, which then develops into an embryo. Fertilization is very important so that the flower can bear fruits. Once the embryo is formed it later becomes fruit with seeds in it.
Complete answer:Once the pollen sits on the stigma it has to germinate and then grow through style to reach the ovule. The pollen has two cells- generative cell and pollen tube cell. The pollen tube cell grows into the style which makes way for the generative cell to travel and fertilize the ovule.
For the germinative cell to reach the ovule it needs oxygen, water, and some chemical signals. As the germinative cell travels to reach the embryo sac the pollen tube is supported by the tissue of the style. During this process, the germinative cell divides into two and forms two sperm cells.
Now, these cells enter through the micropyle of the ovule sac. One male gamete cell will fertilize the diploid egg cell and the other cell fuses with the polar nuclei which become triploid cells and this becomes endosperm.
Hence the answer is option B, Embryo development.
Below is the picture of embryo formation.
Note:In sexual reproduction after the fertilization they are called post-fertilization events. Once the pollen fuses with the ovule it forms a diploid zygote. And the development of an embryo from the diploid zygote is termed embryogenesis. Now the fertilized ovule will form the seed and the tissues of the ovary become the fruit that envelops the seed.
