3. Basin irrigation- It is also a type of surface irrigation and thus requires a large amount of water. Streams can be used as water sources. Gravity plays an important role in this method. Water is applied uniformly to the whole cultivation area. Thus, it cannot be applied to huge cultivation areas and in water-scarce regions.
