Hint: Rahat system of irrigation was an old method of irrigation. It was a method in which water is taken out of wells for crops by strong or heavy animals like oxen, buffalo or cows. In this method, a wheel is placed at the centre of a shaft and when animals move in circular motion water comes out of the wells and spreads over the fields. This method was very good as it reduces human efforts and time very efficiently. Also, very efficiently uses ground water for irrigation.

Complete answer:
Everywhere in the World we need to irrigate our crops to have good productivity out of them. Earlier days, different methods were used for irrigation like Rahat, Dhekli and others. Irrigation with the groundwater was a very convenient method at that time because technology was not developed that much so methods like Rahat came into existence.
Rahat method of irrigation was used with the aim to take out stored water in the large wells and other ground water bodies. Buckets were attached with the circular shaft and that shaft was moved by animals like oxen, buffalo and others, then water spread on crops. This method was very cheap and also very easily available.
Now, this method was primarily used in subcontinents of Africa and the Middle East countries. Countries like Western Asia, all Egypt, Iran and Turkey come under Middle East Countries.
Thus, America, India and Indonesia are not the countries in which this method of irrigation was used.

Thus, option A is Africa – We can see that method was used in Africa and Middle East countries, so this option is correct.

Note: Do not get confused with Middle East countries. Middle east countries are Bahrain, Cyprus, Egypt. Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Palestine, Turkey, etc.
