Hint: The ovary is known to be an important part of the female reproductive system. It is known to produce the ovum or egg which later is fertilized by the sperm, resulting in the formation of the embryo.

Complete answer-
The overall structure and function of the ovaries starts changing at puberty. At puberty when the eggs are released by the ovary and they travel down the fallopian tube many different feedback mechanisms cause the stimulation of the endocrine system which results in changes in the level of the hormones. These feedback mechanisms are in turn controlled by the hypothalamus and the pituitary gland, messages from the hypothalamus are sent to the pituitary gland which then releases hormones to the ovaries and in response to that the ovaries start secreting their own hormones. The major hormones released from the pituitary are Estrogen and Progesterone. The role of estrogen is the appearance of secondary sexual characteristics for females at puberty as well as maintenance of the reproductive organs in their mature and functional state. Progesterone on the other hand plays an important role in preparing the uterus for pregnancy and mammary glands for lactation. Progesterone and estrogen work together in promoting the menstrual cycle changes that occur in the uterus every 28 days.

Note-
Thus both of the hormones play important roles in development of secondary characters as well as in pregnancy. There are other hormones which are released at lower levels such as androgens and inhibin. Androgen in females serves as a precursor to estrogen and inhibits androgen synthesis.
