Hint: Bile is a greenish watery fluid that helps in the digestion of fat by the process of amplification in the small intestine. It shows the secretion, production, storage and concentration in the liver and gallbladder.
Complete Answer:
Depending upon the secretion and production bile is located in the liver but based on storages and concentration bile located in the gallbladder. So the location of bile mainly depends on its storage which is the gallbladder. Therefore bile is located in the gallbladder.
The gallbladder is a sac-like structure with a thin wall. It lies in the groove surface of the right lobe of the liver. It stores and concentrates bile which is a yellowish greenish fluid and it provides the same colour to the gallbladder. The cystic duct which arises from the gallbladder shows connection with a common hepatic duct that arises from the right and left hepatic duct of the liver lobe. The cystic duct and hepatic duct join to form the bile duct which posteriorly joins with the pancreatic duct and form hepatopancreatic ampulla and it later opens out into the duodenum. Before joining with the pancreatic duct the bile duct gets surrounded by the strong sphincter muscle which is known as the sphincter muscle of Boyden helps in the easy passage of bile.
Note:
In horse and rat gallbladder are absent because rat bile directly comes from the liver for digestion whereas in case of horse they eat constantly which needs regular bile production without storage so there is no need of gallbladder in them.
