Hint: In India, the monsoon rains first arrive in the southernmost state of the country in a month of which the twenty-first day is considered as the longest day of the year.

Complete answer:
The word monsoon is derived from the Arabic word 'mawsim.' The seasonal winds that change their direction according to seasonal change is known as Monsoon. It is a dual system of seasonal winds, in summers the monsoon travels from the sea to the land, and in winters, from land to the sea.
From ancient times, monsoons have been very significant for trade and commerce, as with the help of winds, traders and sailors used to travel from place to place.
In summers, the country gets southwest monsoon, and in winters, India gets northeast monsoon. The southwest monsoon occurs because of the formation of a strong low-pressure system over the Tibetan Plateau. The high-pressure cells are formed over the Siberian Tibetan plateaus through which the northwest monsoon occurs.
In India, the southwestern monsoon starts around the beginning of June and ends by the end of September. On reaching the southernmost part of the Indian Peninsular gets divided into the Bay of Bengal Branch and the Arabian Sea Branch.
June 1 is regarded as the first day of the monsoon in the country and arrives in the southernmost state of the country, Kerala.

Note: In India, seventy percent of the population depends on the monsoon rains for growing crops such as cotton, rice, oilseeds. We can say that the Indian economy is dependent on monsoon, a delay can badly affect the economy, example is the droughts of the 1990s.
