Hint: In this question we need to use the concept of percentage. So, for the same we will use the percent formula which is \[percentage=\dfrac{\left( amount\times 100 \right)}{total}\]. Direct substitution of values in this formula will give us the appropriate result.
Complete step-by-step solution:
Now, in this question we can see that we need to find the percent of some number So, according to formula we have,
Let Percent is =x%
And number of which we want the percent portion is =49
Value=7
So, now putting these values in formula of value we get,
Value=\[percentage=\dfrac{\left( amount\times 100 \right)}{total}\]
$P=\dfrac{\left( 7\times 100 \right)}{49}$
Now multiplying 7 and 100 we get
$\Rightarrow =\dfrac{700}{49}$
And now dividing with 49 will give us the decimal value that is,
$\Rightarrow =14.29$
So, after dividing the number 700 by 49 we can see that we get the decimal after two places from right.
Hence our required answer is that $14.29%$ of $49$ is 7.
Note: In reverse process (we can check our answer), students majorly forget to imply this formula and directly use the percentage formula and substitute the value in the wrong way and get the wrong answer. Secondly, students forget to remove the percent symbol while putting the value of Percent. It must be taken care that the calculation portion is done in an appropriate manner that reduces chances of error like first solve the bracket only, don't just see 100 in the denominator and accordingly apply decimal places and then multiply in decimals which may give large decimal values if the value is large enough.
