This liquid core flows around the center of the earth and this motion is responsible for creating the earth’s magnetic field.

Thus, the radius of the core is approximately 3500 km. It comprises heavy materials like nickel and iron which is why it is often called the nife layer.

Note:The core forms around 83% of the total volume of the earth. The central area of the core is extremely hot and has extremely high pressures. Sometimes the core of the Earth is also known as the barysphere. The measurements of the core remain an approximate value as nobody can physically go and measure it.
