The most common corrosive liquids are acids- hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, nitric acid, chromic acid, acetic acid, and hydrofluoric acid and bases- ammonium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide (caustic potash), and sodium hydroxide (caustic soda).
Among the above liquids, hydrofluoric acid and sodium hydroxide are considered the most corrosive liquids.
The damage caused by the corrosive liquid depends upon the concentration of the liquid, and also the time of exposure of the body to the corrosive liquid. If the liquid is in contact with the body for a longer time then the damage caused by the liquid is very worse. Even in dilute concentrations, strong acids and bases can be corrosive. Corrosive liquids are harmful to the skin, eyes, and respiratory tract. Ingestion of corrosives can induce severe consequences, including serious damage to the gastrointestinal tract, which can lead to vomiting, severe stomach aches, and death.

While dealing with corrosive liquids it is very important to wear gloves and eye protection. For eyes, safety goggles are considered to be best as they are made of glass and they provide very good protection. It is important to note that whenever you spill any corrosive acid or base on your skin then immediately wash it with water. Never attempt to neutralize it on the skin as it may cause more damage and burn to the skin.
