Complete answer: People in other forms of government do not have the kind of freedom democracy provides. The first thing that democracy ensures is a government that is accountable and responsive to the needs of its people. Since it involves an extensive debate and discussion, people know that it is to ensure the best for all. The will and aspirations of its people in society are very well borne in mind all the time. There are special provisions for the minorities and the socially disadvantaged communities like children and women. Therefore it is both ethical and ensures common welfare of each and every citizen. Above all, democracy makes sure that there is a rule of law. This simply means that the legal framework is unbiased and impartial. Every law is enforced in a fair manner and everyone without any discrimination comes under the ambit of this law. In the absence of rule of law, there would be injustice and domination of the rich and powerful in society. Democracy ensures that people have the right to voice out their opinions and keep their demands in front of the government. The leaders are elected by the citizens of the country and thus there is always accountability towards them.
