Hint: CNG is made by Compressing Natural Gas and LPG is Liquefied Petroleum Gas which is prepared by refining petroleum and is almost completely derived from fossil fuel sources.

Complete step-by-step answer:LPG is a flammable gas which is a mixture of hydrocarbons. It is prepared by refining petroleum. There are different varieties of LPG depending upon the composition of hydrocarbons as they mostly contain propane and butane. LPG is odourless gas. Amyl mercaptan which is a very strong odorant is added to LPG to detect leakage. Boiling point of LPG is below room temperature so it evaporates quickly at normal temperature. A LPG cylinder contains liquid. LPG is a short form of liquid petroleum gas.
CNG is made by compressing natural gas mainly composed of methane. Nowadays diesel, petrol and LPG are replaced by CNG as on combustion it produces less pollution and also its calorific value is high. CNG is cheaper than other fuels that’s why it is now more preferred. Its use is significantly increased in many areas of the country like Delhi, Mumbai and other states. CNG is also known as compressed natural gas.
Full form of LPG is liquid petroleum gas and CNG is compressed natural gas.
LPG and CNG both are natural gases. The main difference between them is CNG stored at high temperature while LPG at low pressure. CNG is also called supercritical fluid. LPG is known as liquefied petroleum gas.

Note: Use of CNG helps to reduce green-house effect as the burning of CNG produces less carbon dioxide. CNG is composed of methane and LPG is composed of propane and butane.
