Hint :Isomerism is defined as the phenomenon in which more than one compound having the same chemical formula but different chemical structure. The compounds that have the same chemical formula but differ in the properties and arrangement of atoms in the molecule are known as isomers.

The word “isomer” is a greek word where “isos” means equal and “meros” means parts and this term was given by the chemist Jacob Berzelius. The compounds having the same chemical formula but different chemical structure is known as isomerism.
E-Z isomerism is one type of stereoisomerism, which is applicable to alkenes and other organic compounds that contain $ C = C $ bonds. If the two groups which has higher properties are on the same side of the double bond which is described as the (Z) isomer, where (E) isomer takes place when the two groups with higher properties are on opposite side of the double bond.
The E-Z configuration is the method given by IUPAC which describes the absolute stereochemistry of double bonds. It is an extension of cis and trans which helps us in describing double bonds having two, three or more substituents.
Note :
According to Cahn-ingold-prelog rules are given by;
Each substituent on a double bond is assigned a priority, then the positions of the higher of the two substituents on the carbon are compared to each other.
If the two groups of the higher priority are on the opposite sides of the double bond, this bond assigns the E configuration.
If the two groups of higher priority are on the same side of the double bond which is assigned as Z configuration.
