Hint: From the name itself, we can know that copper matte is a compound of copper. Matte is a kind of process in which element is extracted before the final reduction. Copper matte involves the mixture of sulphide of elements present in the period 4 of periodic table.

1.First, we will define the copper matte. Copper matte is a substance obtained from the metallurgy process of primary and secondary sources.
2.Matte is obtained from copper ore, concentrated, or even the recycled materials.
3.It is primarily composed of copper (main amount), iron and lead sulphides, and minor sulphides of other metals can also be present.
4.Now, in the process of copper extraction subsequent to the final reduction, copper is converted to a crude copper.
5.The composition of copper matte includes copper sulphide (80-95%), and it also includes the alloys of Fe – Co which makes up 5-17% of the mixture, even in the place of Fe – Co, metallic copper, or silver, Pb – Ag alloys, and arsenide can be present too.
