Hint: The Mendelian traits can be described at the level of the gene then the dominant and recessive traits exist. A dominant trait is a trait that appears first or expressed visibly in the organisms and a recessive trait or d trait is masked and not show itself in the organisms at the gene level.

- Mendel selected garden pea for his experiments due to the following characteristics:
- The first and the most important point which was there in the mind of Mendel is that garden peas need a shorter lifetime and are the plants that are easier to take care of.
- The pea plant pollinates on its own thus the process of self or cross-pollination can occur easily in between them.
-The physical features of the pea plant are easier to recognize and thus easier to study.
-The flowers of the pea plant are found to be bisexual consisting of both the male and the female part within the same flower.

These laws of inheritance were the law of dominance, the law of segregation, and the law of independent assortment.
