The dew point is the temperature at which air should be revived to be filled with the vapour of water.

The flying water vapour is cooled further and condenses into fluid water (dew). When it cools to the point of its dew, water condenses on the surface through contact with a surface that is colder than air. When the temperature is below the water freezing point, the dew point is known as the frost point, as freezing is generated by deposition, not condensation into dew. The dew point measurement is moisture-related. A higher point of dew suggests more moisture is present in the air. The corresponding phrase in liquids is the cloud point.

A higher dive point implies increased air humidity, a dive of more than 20 degrees (68 degrees F) and an excessively wet dew of more than 22 degrees C (72 degrees F) is regarded. Frost point is a dew point if below freezing temperatures.

Note: Hygrometers are used to measure a broad variety of temperatures by means of a dew point. These instruments consist of an air cooling polished metal mirror.
