Hint :A binary solution is a type of homogeneous mixture which contains two liquids that are completely miscible with each other. One liquid is present in more quantity than the other in the solution. Binary solutions have unique properties; we will see them later in this question.
Complete Step By Step Answer:
Binary solution is made up of two components one is called solute and other is called solvent. Solvent generally present in more quantity than the solute in the solution. Solute changes its physical state when added to solvent but the physical state of solvent remains the same. Binary solution depends upon their boiling point of the solution they have some properties which are given as
Boiling point of the binary solution of a certain composition should be less than the boiling point of the clean liquids.
Boiling point of the binary solution of any composition should be more than the boiling point of the clean liquids
Boiling point of the binary solution of every composition should be between the boiling point of the clean liquids.
Common examples of binary solution are
Brine solution: It is a highly concentrated solution of salt in water that occurs in nature in underground salt lakes or seawater. It is used to produce common salt.
Sugar in water: Sugar consists of solid crystals; it changes its state from solid to liquid when dissolved in water.
Note :
It is not necessary that water will always exist as a solvent in a solution. Blue Vitriol is a unique case; it occurs in nature as crystal; it is a salt of Copper sulphate Pentahydrate in which water exists as a solute and Copper sulphate as a solvent.
