Hint :An organic compound with at least one hydroxyl functional group (OH) bound to a saturated carbon atom is known as alcohol. Alcohols are polar because of the hydroxyl group. Those groups can form hydrogen bonds with each other and with the majority of other compounds.

Complete Step By Step Answer:
Glycerol, for example, is an alcohol with three hydroxyl groups. Glycerol is a trihydric alcohol because it contains three different types of hydroxyls or alcohol. Glycerin is a thick, sweet-tasting liquid found in fats and oils. It is the main triglyceride found in coconut and olive oil. Glycerol also has unique chemical properties that make it more convenient to use when oil fails.
Glycerol is a colourless, odourless, viscous, and hygroscopic liquid that has a sweet taste and is non-toxic in nature. It is water and ethyl alcohol soluble, but not ether soluble. It has a high boiling point of 290 degrees Celsius. Because of its high viscosity and boiling point, glycerol is purified in the lab by reduced hydrogen bonding due to association, vacuum distillation or pressure distillation.
Due to its non-toxic nature, glycerol is used as a sweetening agent in confectionery, beverages, and medicines. It is used as an antifreeze in automobile radiators, as well as in the manufacture of high-quality soap, hand lotions, and shaving creams. As a lubricant in watches and a preservative, it's used in creams, tooth pastes, and cosmetics.

Note :
Alcohols are more water soluble than simple hydrocarbons due to the presence of the polar OH. In water, methanol, ethanol, and propanol are miscible. Butanol is moderately soluble due to its four-carbon chain. Alcohols have higher boiling points than comparable hydrocarbons and ethers due to hydrogen bonding. The boiling point of ethanol is 78.29 degrees Celsius, compared to 69 degrees Celsius for the hydrocarbon hexane and 34.6 degrees Celsius for diethyl ether.
