Hint: This is a totally theoretical question to be answered. We will go through all types of numbers and will rest at integers. These are the numbers with all positive and negative numbers. So let's learn one by one!
Complete step by step solution:
There are types of numbers that were developed even before integers.
I.Natural numbers: These are the only positive numbers starting from 1 and up to infinity.
II.Whole numbers: After natural numbers we included zero in that set and named them as whole numbers.
III.Integers: This is the set of all positive, all negative numbers along with zero in it.
In short ,I would say that the visible number line or that we generally draw is the integers.
Positive numbers 1,2,3…. that are on the RHS of the number line and all negative numbers \[ - 1, - 2, - 3....\] are on the LHS with zero as origin in the middle.
Note: Students note that fraction is a different concept. That is not the integers. Fractions do use the integers but they are not the same. Fraction is a part of the whole and integer is a full number in it. Just after including negative numbers with whole numbers we formed integers.
