Hint: To answer this question, you should recall the concept of treatment of wasp sting. An opposite nature solution i.e. acid or base will help neutralize the injected venom which may be acidic or basic.

Complete step by step answer:
When a wasp stings a person, it inserts an alkaline solution into the person's skin. This causes high irritation and pain. Applying a weak acid, such as vinegar, to the wound neutralises the alkaline solution and soothes the pain. Hence, the correct answer for this question should be acidic i.e. vinegar (CH3COOH) or Acetic acid .

Hence option B is correct.

Additional information:
The process of preparation of baking soda which is used to treat bee sting is known as Solvay’s process. The steps:
1. Purification of Brine:Brine refers to a saturated solution of salt obtained by evaporation with the removal of impurities like calcium, magnesium etc. by the precipitation process. This solution prepared undergoes filtration and is mixed with ammonia in the ammonia tower and the ammonia tower gets cooled.
2. Formation of sodium hydrogen carbonate:Carbon dioxide is passed through an ammoniated brine solution
3. Formation of sodium carbonate:Sodium Bicarbonate is heated at a temperature of 300C. Hence, formations of sodium carbonate take place
4. Recovery of ammoniaAmmonia can be recovered by treating the solution of NH4Cl with Ca (OH)2. This ammonia is again used in the Solvay process and CaCl2 is obtained as a by-product

Note:
While wasp sting venom is basic, bee sting venom is acidic, which is why a household remedy for a bee sting is baking soda or sodium bicarbonate, which is a basic substance. A wasp sting, on the other hand, is mildly basic, so a household remedy for this will be vinegar, also known as acetic acid. These simple treatments ease these painful stings by a process called neutralization.
