Hint - The Nizam-ul-Mulk was the founder of the Asaf Jahi Dynasty which ruled over the Kingdom of Hyderabad. The Kingdom was established in 1724.
Complete Step by Step Answer - Mir Qamar-ud-din Khan was a nobleman in the Mughal Court. He is also identified by the titles bestowed to him such as Nizam-ul-Mulk and Asaf Jah. During the time of Emperor Aurangzeb, he served as a loyal general in the army. He was given the post of the Viceroy of Deccan and the title Nizam-ul-Mulk Fateh Jang in 1712 by the Mughal Emperor Farrukhsiyar. He was also made the Grand Vizier of the Mughal Empire in 1721. However, due to growing differences between him and Emperor Muhammad Shah, he resigned from the post and marched to Deccan. He defeated Mubariz Khan who had been appointed as the governor by the emperor. As a result of this, the Mughal Emperor had to unwillingly give Mir Qamar the Viceroyalty of Deccan and award him the title of Asaf Jah. Following this, the Asaf Jahi Dynasty was established, which would go on to rule the Kingdom of Hyderabad. The Kings of this dynasty adopted the title of Nizam, and Mir Qamar would come to be known as Nizam I. Though Mir Qamar never formally declared his independence he would go on to rule the Kingdom as an independent ruler. He established new systems of governance, reorganised the administrative structure, raised a personal army, hoisted a new flag and passed new laws under which the kingdom had to be ruled.
Note - Mir Qamar, better known as Asaf Jah or the first Nizam of Hyderabad, was given the title of Nizam-ul-Mulk when he was made the Viceroy of Deccan by Farrukhsiyar in 1712. Later he established the kingdom of Hyderabad in 1724.
