Hint: Vitamin is one of the B vitamins that benefits the central nervous system. It is also involved in keeping the lymph nodes, thymus and spleen healthy.
Complete answer: Vitamin is also known as pyridoxine. It is a water-soluble vitamin, which means that it dissolves in water. Vitamin may help boost brain performance. Vitamin is needed for neurotransmission in the brain. It is also involved in other functions like protein and glucose metabolism and the manufacture of haemoglobin. Vitamin is found in a wide variety of foods, such as chicken, peanuts, soya beans, oats, bananas, etc. Some of its riches sources include fish, beef liver, meats, potatoes and other starchy vegetables, and fruit (other than citrus). Since our body easily runs out of pyridoxine, it is important to consume foods that contain rich in B6. Along with several other B vitamins, pyridoxine controls the level of the amino acid called homocysteine in the blood, which in turn lowers susceptibility to stroke and heart disease. During pregnancy and infancy, it is used in the development of the brain and plays an important role in immune function. Other functions of pyridoxine include protein and glucose metabolism, and the manufacture of haemoglobin, which is a component of red blood cells and carries oxygen. Vitamin B6 also keeps the lymph nodes, thymus and spleen healthy and may help boost brain performance. It’s needed for the neuron transmission in the brain. Deficiencies are rare, but they may occur if the individual has poor intestinal absorption or is taking estrogens, corticosteroids, anticonvulsants, and some other medications. Excessive long-term alcohol consumption may eventually result in the deficiency of pyridoxine. It can lead to pellagra like symptoms and much more.
Note: Vitamin also known as pyridoxine is a water-soluble vitamin. It was first discovered in 1934, but was isolated in 1938, and it was first made in the year 1939. It is included on the World Health Organization's list of essential medicines.
