Hint: Tropical rainforest is mainly divided into three levels, top-level canopy, middle-level understory, and bottom level forest floor. Modification of plant structure in tropical rainforest depends on its level. Higher-level receive maximum light and water whereas lower level receives maximum shade and low rainfall.

Complete answer:
The tropical rain forest is wet and hot due to sunlight and maximum rainfall. The structure of plants in tropical rainforest depends on the sunlight it receives. Lower vegetation of tropical rainforest known as understory which lies between canopy and ground floor level receives the minimum amount of sunlight nearly 5-10 parentage, therefore, the plant in this region has broad leaves to trap the maximum amount of sunlight for photosynthesis. This level mostly consists of herbs, shrubs, small trees, and woody vines. Therefore vegetation in lower levels in the tropical rainforest has broad and large leaves.

Canopy level is an upper level of tropical rainforest which receives the maximum amount of sunlight, therefore, the vegetation of this level has large and tall trees with a height of about 35-50 m. Canopy level supports the growth of many small plants and it also supports the growth of epiphytic plants.
The ground level of tropical rainforest also known as forest floor receives only 1-2 percent of sunlight, therefore, vegetation is almost nil. The ground level is a house for many animals and this level only supports the decomposition of dead and decay matter.

Note: If a plant grows above the canopy level then these plants come under an emergent level which consists of a minimum amount of tall trees with a height of 50-55 m and some of 80-85m.
Maximum rainfall in tropical rainforest mainly affects its soil quality which leads to washing off of essential nutrients and affects the growth of plants.
