Hint: For solving this question you should know about the mean, median and quartile which are the most common averages in statistics. In the statistics we can say that the mean or median is a centre of the given data by adding all data and dividing the submission by the number of data.

Complete step by step answer:
According to the question we have to explain about the use of mean in daily life.
Mean: The mean of any data set or observations is equal to the sum of all observations and divide this submission by the number of observations.
The mean has different types: -
(1) Arithmetic mean: - It is the average of all observations and if we have not given in the question any type of mean then generally we calculate this mean.
(2) Weighted mean: - It is also the same as the arithmetic mean, but only the difference in weighted mean is that some values contribute more than the others.
(3) Harmonic mean: - It is calculated by dividing the total number of observations by the reciprocal of each reciprocal.
(4) Geometric mean: - The geometric mean determines the central tendency using the product of observations (rather than their sum). And generally it is used in the financial and social science field.
(5) Arithmetic – geometric mean: - This mean is a mixture of arithmetic and geometric averages.
Formula of mean \[=\dfrac{\text{Sum of Total observations}}{\text{Total no. of observations}}\]
Mean can be used in the calculation of tasks of time spent by a student for a week over different activities such as play time, studies and the number of hours he slept.
For calculating the mean we have to collect the data on a daily basis for these types of activities. Or if we want to calculate the mean of other things then collect the data for that of every unit time or unit material or any parameter in the unit. And then by taking the average of these we can calculate the mean of that.

Note: In any data set there are always the first quartile, the third quartile and the median. And we can calculate the mean for every type of data set. But it is mandatory to take all the data in the submission and number of data in the counting of that.
