A. Bordeaux – It was a major trading center for slaves during the 18th Century, which was also known as the golden era of Bordeaux. During the French Revolution in 1791, a slave revolt began in St. Domingue (present day Haiti), which was the most profitable French colony. After 3 years, slavery was abolished by the Montagnard Convention.

B. Alsace-Lorraine – It was an Imperial Territory which came into French power after it was conquered by Louis XIII and Louis XIV in the 17th Century. During the advent of the French Revolution, a general panic took place which is known as the Great Fear. It spread towards the south in the Provence region, east towards the Alps, and west towards central France. But it left Alsace-Lorraine and Brittany untouched.

C. Paris – The French Revolution started with the storming of the Bastille on 14 July 1789. The Bastille was an armory, political prison and a fortress, which represented the royal authority in the center of Paris. During its storming the Bastille was holding only seven prisoners, but it was stormed anyways as it was seen as a symbol of the abuse of power by the monarchy.
