Though the force are balanced at the mean position the bob of a pendulum still crosses over to the other extreme position after being released This is due to

Hint:We know from the first law of Newton if a body in rest or motion it will remains in their old state until and unless an external force acts on it
Step by step solution:
When a bob released from extreme position then at that time it has a potential energy when it released it starts to move towards its mean position
As the bob fall down the velocity of bob increases when it reached at the lowest point or mean position it gain its maximum speed due to this velocity bob does not stop at mean position because there is no external force applied on bob at that point or can say the net external force is zero .when net external force is zero on any object according to Newton’s first law it does not change their state this law of Newton’s also called the law of inertia
At the mean point the bob has a motion means it as inertia of motion due to this the bob crossed over the mean point
Though the forces are balanced at the mean position the bob of a pendulum still crosses over to the other extreme position after being released This is due to inertia of motion of the bob.
Hence option A is correct
Note:There are three types of inertia
-Inertia of rest, inertia of motion, and inertia of direction
-Inertia of rest- An object stays where it is placed, and it will stay there until you or something else moves it
-Inertia of motion - An object will continue at the same speed until a force acts on it
-Inertia of direction - An object will stay moving in the same direction unless a force acts on it.
