Hint: This question is taken from the chapter the Browning version. Frank and Mr. Crocker Harris are the main protagonists of the lesson. Mr. Crocker Harris and Frank Hunter were teachers in a school.

Complete answer:
Frank is a young science teacher. He envied Mr. Crocker Harris because Crocker-Harris was a very strict teacher who was efficiently able to control the behaviour of his students. The students were so scared of him that they did not even dare to leave the class even when he was late for the lecture.

Mr. Crocker Harris never told his students the results before they were officially announced. He also made the students do extra work but in spite of all these things, the students still liked him and never tried to disregard him. Frank was a much younger teacher than Mr. Crocker Harris.

Frank wanted the students to be as obedient and afraid of him as they were of Mr. Crocker Harris. Crocker-Harris followed all the rules and regulations of the schools very strictly and sincerely. These qualities made him so unique and different from the other teachers.

Note:
- The author of the lesson is Terence Rattigan. The browning version is one of the greatest works of Terence Rattigan.
- Frank Hunter had an affair with Mr. Crocker Harris’s wife Millie Harris.
- The lesson brings out the agony of a sincere teacher and how a lot of times the real worth of a person is not realized by people.
